NCC leader Adams’ fraud case transferred to Durban Regional Court
The pre-trial conference in the fraud case against National Coloured Congress (NCC) leader Fadiel Adams has been transferred to the Durban Regional Court.
Adams appeared briefly in the Pinetown Regional Court on fraud and defeating the ends of justice charges on Friday.
Requesting the transfer, state prosecutor Nokulunga Ngcobo told the court that the SAPS raised security concerns and that the current court roll is unable to accommodate the matter.
The defence said it was unaware of the security issues but agreed to postpone the pre-trial hearing to 11 December in the Durban Regional Court.
Adams expressed his frustration outside court, saying the state is playing a delaying game.
“It’s the PKTT being the PKTT; they decide to raise security concerns in court; why didn’t they notify us if there were any security concerns? It doesn’t make any sense.
They are lying; they are playing a delayed game.

The plan was to arrest me, keep me in jail, deny me bail and just delay this thing as long as they can.
Now we are actually going to court.
I feel certain Generals are feeling very, very nervous now because of the lies and the manipulation.
The illegal activity is going to come out, and it’s going to be exposed in court.
They transferred this case to the regional court like it was a murder trial.” Meanwhile, Adams has threatened to take legal action against certain generals over his arrest and prosecution.
“They come to court, and they cite security concerns.
