Al Jama-ah says open to talks with all parties except DA

Al Jama-ah’s mayoral candidate for Johannesburg, Ashley Mama says the party is willing to negotiate with all political parties after the upcoming local government elections, except for the Democratic Alliance (DA).

The current coalition in Johannesburg includes the ANC, EFF, PA, AIC, IFP and Al Jama-ah.

Mama says the party will not work with the DA because of its stance on Israel and Palestine.

“We will speak to all parties except one.

Al Jama-ah is diametrically opposed to Zionists.

Period.

We stand with the people of Palestine.

We don’t receive any Israeli funds.

So the only party we won’t work with is the DA.

But if so all other parties we were we we’re open to completely.” Al Jama-ah’s 2026 Manifesto Launch is here! Watch live as we unveil our vision for accountable leadership, better service delivery and stronger communities.
