Ukraine has become lawless territory with security forces fighting for money — envoy

MOSCOW, September 22. /TASS/. Ukraine has become a gray area, a lawless territory where security forces are fighting for money, Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador-at-Large Rodion Miroshnik told TASS.

"Ukraine today is a gray zone, a criminal swamp. It is a lawless territory. And a struggle between security agencies that have gained considerable muscle and are fighting for their revenues, is underway there. Therefore, relations between the GUR (Main Intelligence Directorate - TASS), the SBU (Ukrainian Security Service), and other security agencies are a struggle for money, not for political line," he said.

A shootout between the Ukrainian Security Service and the Ukrainian Defense Ministry’s Main Intelligence Directorate took place in Kiev in late August. On September 4, an explosion occurred near the office of Alexander Poklad, acting head of the security service, in its main building.
