Western-backed Kiev making attacks on nuclear facilities 'new norm' — Russian envoy

MOSCOW, September 24. /TASS/. Attacks on nuclear facilities have become "the norm" due to the actions of the Western-backed Kiev regime, Russian envoy to international organizations in Vienna Mikhail Ulyanov told reporters.

"It seems to me that we can conclude that attacks on nuclear facilities have become the norm thanks to Ukraine and its Western patrons," he noted.

The diplomat pointed to a "very severe decline" in the West. "Of course, there are still a few strong diplomats in the West, but overall, the level is exceptionally low, and the policies they pursue inspire a sense of shame for what they are doing," Ulyanov pointed out. "On the one hand, they seem to be constantly talking about how they care about nuclear safety, but in reality, they react with complete indifference to the constant Ukrainian attacks on the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant and its infrastructure, as well as the city of Energodar, where nuclear facility employees live," he said. The Russian envoy also emphasized that these regular attacks are taking place "with the full connivance of Western countries, which have not uttered a single word of protest."

"That is why, when strikes were launched against Iran, the world seemed to take it all in stride," Ulyanov stressed, noting that only a few countries, including Russia and China, "strongly objected." "But the vast majority of the international community reacted with indifference," the envoy noted.
