I ran attacked U.S. military bases in Kuwait on Thursday (September 3, 2026), despite President Donald Trump threatening further strikes in a fresh flare-up six months into the war.

Mr. Trump said his military was prepared to attack Iran “any time we want” after extensive US bombardment of sites across the country left at least 19 Iranians dead.

Tehran retaliated by hitting U.S. military targets across West Asia, including in Kuwait, Jordan, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain and Iraq’s autonomous Kurdistan region.

Iran’s army said it targeted U.S. bases in the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, despite threats of further strikes by U.S. President Donald Trump.

“This morning, the army hit the satellite communication systems, equipment depots and fighter aircraft hangars of the terrorist U.S. army at the Ahmad al-Jaber Air Base in Kuwait with missiles and drones,” the army said in a statement carried by state TV.

It added that “the location of forces and radar systems of the child-killing U.S. army at the Al Minhad Air Base in the UAE were also attacked by missiles and drones of the army”.

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed ‌Al Nahyan ‌and ‌U.S. President Donald Trump discussed West Asia developments and ‌bilateral cooperation during a phone call, UAE ‌state news agency ‌WAM said.

Six commodity vessels transited ‌the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday (September 2, 2026), down from 11 ‌a day earlier and well ‌below ‌the 10-day average of around 13, preliminary shipping data showed.
