When a wild eagle owl swoops into a pigeon coop
A wild eagle owl recently flew into a resident's pigeon coop in Gaoping, Shanxi Province, where it preyed on several pigeons.
The nationally protected second-class species had a minor head injury but was otherwise in good health.
Forestry workers treated the wound and monitored the owl for several days before releasing it back into the wild after a health check.
The resident was compensated by an insurance company for the loss of the pigeons.
