Police ask for help to identify body found on Surrey roadside
Police say the discovery of a man’s body in Surrey on Wednesday was a result of foul play and are working to uncover his identity.
Around 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Surrey police and firefighters responded to calls of a body found by the side of the road in the 6100 block of 156 Street. An adult male was pronounced dead at the scene.
As foul play is suspected, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken charge of the investigation.
“This investigation is in its early stages, and significant work is underway as we conduct a forensic examination of the area where the deceased was located,” said Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT in a news release. “It is critical for us to establish a timeline of events leading up to the man’s death, and we are asking anyone with information to contact IHIT.”
