Man, 66, found dead after stabbing in Beenleigh home

A 66-year-old man has been stabbed to death after an allegedly violent argument with tenants at a home in South East Queensland.

Emergency services were called to a house on Lubach St in Beenleigh about 4.45pm on Tuesday.

Paramedics attempted CPR on the man, who had stab wounds to his body, but he died at the scene.

A man and a woman, both known to the deceased man, were believed to be in an altercation with the man before his death.

A 47-year-old Karalee man has since been charged with one count of murder.

A 43-year-old Beenleigh woman remains under police guard in hospital and is expected to assist police further with their investigations into the man’s death.

The Courier Mail reports the 66-year-old homeowner was stabbed following a tenancy dispute, allegedly leading to a violent interaction.

Neighbours said the man had returned from work only to be locked out of his home by the two occupants, and he started kicking the door down.

The man and woman inside allegedly set upon the man, smashing his head with dinner plates before he was stabbed.

The female occupant allegedly began screaming for help, with neighbours rushing to the house and taking the knife off her.

“She has come down yelling and screaming for help, (saying he’s) just been stabbed, he is on the ground bleeding out,” the neighbour said.

“My mate was also at the scene, he has gone inside, grabbed her, threw her out of the way.”

The neighbour said the 66-year-old allegedly tried to tell the occupants to “vacate the premises”, but they “wouldn’t leave”.

“I have come up, opened the gate and seen (the man) lying on the ground with multiple stab wounds in his lungs, multiple stab wounds in his back,” he said.
