Images released after women sexually assaulted on walking trails in North Sydney
Police have called on the public’s help after multiple women on walking trails were allegedly sexually assaulted by a man riding an e-bike.
Five women have reported the alleged sexual assault to police along the Narrabeen Lagoon Trail in Sydney’s Northern Beaches between October 1-8.
Police allege each incident involved a woman being approached by a man riding an e-bike, who sexually touched them before riding away.
One of the incidents involved two women being assaulted, and another involved the man making “inappropriate sexual comments”.
Investigators on Monday asked for information from the public after receiving the first report on October 1, leading to four other women coming forward from three separate alleged assaults.
Police have since established Strike Force Mexvo with assistance from the State Crime Command’s Sex Crimes Squad to investigate the incidents.
As part of those investigations, police have released CCTV images of a man they believe can help with inquiries.
He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, believed to be aged under 25 years old, about 175cm tall and with a medium build.
The images show him riding an e-bike and wearing a red-and-white shirt, grey sweat pants and white shoes.
Anyone with information, mobile phone, dashcam footage, or who may have witnessed any of the incidents has been urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
