Britain’s Georgia Hunter Bell surges to emphatic 1500m European gold

Hunter Bell races clear on final lap to win in 4:07.78sec Klaudia Kazimierska claims silver; Patricia Silva bronze Georgia Hunter Bell’s glorious summer continues to take her to fresh summits.

She was simply sublime again as she destroyed a decent European 1500m field to add yet another gold medal to her swelling collection.

As expected, it was a slow and tactical race.

But in the last lap burn up, Hunter Bell truly ignited.

Her time of 58.44secs for the last 400m left her 10 metres clear as she crossed the line in 4:07.78.

As she did so she applauded herself for a job well done.
