ANC names Dada Morero among Joburg mayoral candidates

The ANC has, for now, enlisted its current mayor, Dada Morero, his deputy , Loyiso Masuku, and party veteran Reverend Frank Chikane as its possible Johannesburg candidates ahead of the November 4th’s local government elections.

The party says it will only announce who made the cut next month.

Speculation was rife that Chikane would be announced as the sole candidate.

But earlier, President Cyril Ramaphosa said they would announce all those who were interviewed.

He confirmed that the launch of the ANC’s election manifesto will go ahead tomorrow in Diepsloot west of Johannesburg.
