We used filmographies, awards, social media, and more to determine each place.

" Harry Potter " is a phenomenon that endures, 29 years after "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone" was first published in the UK.

That book series has turned into a behemoth that contains theme parks, a studio tour , multiple giant stores, a VR experience, conventions, a Broadway play , reality shows, and more.

But at the center of that media giant are the eight theatrical films, which began with a group of preteen actors whose lives were completely transformed when they became pupils at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

And now, a new set of actors is taking the baton.

HBO just released a new trailer for its "Harry Potter" series, which premieres on December 25.
