Dua Lipa Calls Herself a ‘Studio Rat’ In Pics From Sessions For ‘Radical Optimism’ Follow-Up

It looks like Dua Lipa is hard at work on her fourth album.

The “Houdini” singer posted a series of snaps from the studio on Monday (Aug.

31) with the caption, “studio rat and other sightings,” in a photo roll that also included a cute minimart selfie with Troye Sivan and some other random high-fashion snaps and food pics.

The photos likely to get fans most excited, though, were a series in which Lipa appears hard at work on what could be the follow-up to 2024’s Radical Optimism , which debuted at No.

2 on the Billboard 200 album charts in May 2024.

The first slide has Dua pursing her lips and smiling at the camera from behind a vocal mic in a studio, followed by her Sivan selfie, a shot of three martini glasses on a restaurant table and another in which the Service95 founder wears a “So many books, so little time” T-shirt.

The following pic shows Dua sitting on a big red studio couch in New York surrounded by keyboards alongside Sudanese Canadian poet/singer and Drake collaborator Mustafa and songwriter Ali Tamposi (Kelly Clarkson’s “Stronger,” Camila Cabello’s “Havana”), combined with a few selfies and a glimpse at what looks like a delicious pasta dinner and another shot of Mustafa across from her at a restaurant.

The series wraps up with a shot-from-below image of Dua tracking vocals, a classic “girl dinner” of strawberries, blackberries, blueberries, mango, gummy worms and yogurt-covered pretzels and another studio shot in which she’s joined by Mustafa (who also goes by Mustafa The Poet), Tamposi and Grammy-winning producer Greg Kurstin (Adele, Harry Styles).

In 2024, Lipa interviewed Mustafa at a listening session for his 2024 album Dunya , referring to him as “ my best friend .” Lipa’s previous album spawned the worldwide Billboard Hot 100 No.

11 hit “Houdini,” No.

43 hit “Illusion.” She hit the road for the global Radical Optimism tour in November 2024, winding it down on Dec.

5, 2025 with a show in Mexico City, which was turned into the live concert film Dua Lipa — Live From Mexico and the live album, Live From Mexico .

The singer married her longtime love, British actor Callum Turner, in May in a civil ceremony in London, followed by a lavish three-day Italian wedding .
