Newborn in Texas surrogacy battle has heart surgery

The baby at the center of a surrogacy battle, Rumi, had his first open heart surgery Friday for his severe congenital heart condition in Dallas, Texas.

Lee Budner, an attorney for the California-based Omar Ahmed and Nausheen Gilkar, gave an update on the newborn in a statement to The Dallas Morning News on Monday.
