Tomi Lahren suggests Tony Romo to listen to the advice he gave her during 2016 Trevor Noah backlash

Former NFL quarterback Tony Romo 's life has been a bit of a roller coaster these days.

The four-time Pro Bowl selection recently parted ways with CBS, citing the need to take a mental health break.

This came just a few short months after he was arrested on charges of OWI in Wisconsin back in July, and happened the same day he was booted from the Korn Ferry qualifier for signing an incorrect scorecard.

It's probably safe to say that 2026 has not been Romo's year, but if anyone knows how to handle rough times amid public scrutiny, it's the former Dallas Cowboys signal-caller.

JIM NANTZ SPEAKS OUT ON 'GREAT FRIEND' TONY ROMO'S OWI ARREST, SAYS HE WILL 'ALWAYS' BE THERE FOR HIM And OutKick's very own Tomi Lahren has proof.

During an episode of "Tomi Lahren is Fearless," Lahren explained to her guest, Barstool's Kevin "KFC" Clancy, that Romo once offered up some sage advice about dealing with online hate.

"It was actually Tony Romo at the time who told me, 'you think the whole world is talking about it, but really, nobody is,'" Lahren recounts.

This came on the heels of Lahren receiving some hateful comments for her appearance on "The Daily Show with Trevor Noah" just after Donald Trump won in 2016.

"Basically the message was, 'don't be so full of yourself that you think that everybody is talking about you,'" Lahren relayed.

"Because most people aren't even on the internet." Clancy concurred and took things even one step further.

"I think humans are not meant to be this connected and interact this much," he opined.

"We can't handle it." The longtime Barstool employee goes on to explain that for 99.9% of human history, we as humans were only confined to interacting with our small community.

COWBOYS OWNER JERRY JONES HAS TONY ROMO'S BACK, BELIEVES HE WILL 'WORK THROUGH' OWI ARREST "The fact that you have access to millions of people's opinions ...

I don't think we are even wired to be able to handle that." It's great advice from all parties involved, and Romo would be wise to heed the words he offered up to Lahren nearly a decade ago.
