Boy, 13, stabbed at Taco Bell in Rochdale as police swarm town centre

A 13-year-old boy has been rushed to hospital with serious injuries after being stabbed at a Taco Bell in Rochdale town centre.

An air ambulance and several police vehicles were scrambled to the scene shortly after 6pm, with officers placing a cordon around the fast-food chain.

Eyewitnesses inside Taco Bell had reported a "stabbing" before CSI officers arrived at the scene to conduct their enquiries.

Two boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article, Greater Manchester Police have said.

A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called to reports of a stabbing at 6.09pm on Riverside Walk. Boy, 13, taken to hospital with serious injuries.

"Two teenage boys have been arrested on suspicion of assault and possession of a bladed article. Enquiries are ongoing."
