Emiliano Martínez finally gets his Villa exit with £7.5m move to Chelsea

Argentinian set to displace Sánchez as Blues’ No 1 ‘Coming to Chelsea was an easy decision to make’ Chelsea have completed the signing of Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez.

The 33-year-old, who has been agitating to leave Villa for the last two summers, has finally got his wish as he has moved for £7.5m, signing a three-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

Martínez, who won the 2022 World Cup with Argentina and twice secured the Yashin Trophy for the best goalkeeper, is set to displace Robert Sánchez as Chelsea’s No 1 goalkeeper.
