Daniel Dubois and Fabio Wardley fight again tonight in a blockbuster all-British world heavyweight title rematch in London.

Only five months have passed since their electric first bout in Manchester in May , which was an unforgettable and brutal Fight of the Year frontrunner.

Dubois showed extraordinary powers of recovery to lift himself off the canvas twice - the first time after only 10 seconds - and go on to dominate a bruised and battered Wardley, who absorbed so much heavy punishment but would not go down as he displayed his own incredible fortitude.

Referee Howard Foster eventually intervened and waved off the fight in the 11th round with Wardley still on his feet but continuing to take massive punches, with Dubois’ stoppage victory beginning his second reign as a world heavyweight champion.

He claimed the WBO belt that Wardley had held since being upgraded following Oleksandr Usyk’s decision to relinquish it in November 2025, with the Ipswich favourite having realised his own world title dream after initially winning the interim gold with a late stoppage of Joseph Parker the previous month.

It was an astonishing victory for Dubois as he bounced back from his emphatic second defeat by Usyk in a one-sided undisputed showdown at Wembley last summer, another fearsome demonstration of his power after demolishing Anthony Joshua in five rounds in 2024 and also a firm riposte to those critics who still accused him of quitting in previous losses.

He is a firm favourite to repeat against Wardley, whom he handed a first-ever loss as a fairytale rise from white-collar boxing to world heavyweight champion was finally halted.
