Local police were called to the scene when a 24-year-old named Grace Vicente reportedly got into an ambulance that was parked outside the venue and drove it a short distance before crashing into another vehicle.

Vicente was detained by police after the collision, and later charged with DUI and theft of a vehicle.

The ambulance was parked outside the venue after being called out for the event, and the keys were reportedly left inside the vehicle when paramedics got out.

The driver of the car that the ambulance crashed into was taken to hospital following the incident, and had no life-threatening injuries.

Speaking to local outlet AZFamily , Vicente’s lawyer claimed that she had travelled to Arizona for the gig and described the incident involving the ambulance as “completely out of her normal nature”.

Since then, Joel and Benji Madden have also made a surprise appearance on stage with Hilary Duff at Madison Square Garden, just hours after their company carried out mass layoffs at US music journalism titles including Pitchfork and Brooklyn Vegan .
