Manisha Khetrapal, headmistress of PM SHRI Kendriya Vidyalaya, NFR Rangiya, Assam, will be awarded the National Teachers’ Award, 2026, for her innovation and contribution in strengthening Foundational and Preparatory Stages towards the rollout of the National Education Policy-2020. Before heading KV NFR Rangiya, Dr. Khetrapal worked for eight years at Kendriya Vidyalaya, IIT Guwahati, where she initiated Project DivyaMitra, a step towards meaningful inclusion, in collaboration with Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation Of India (ALIMCO).

She was a key resource person of EduLead, a collaborative project between Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan and Samagra Shiksha Assam in which 382 principals and head teachers of PM SHRI schools across Assam were trained. Dr. Khetrapal’s ‘mission’ has been to ensure that children in the Northeast get the maximum learning opportunities, be it visiting the India International Science Festival at IIT Guwahati or facilitating a visit of delegates from The Japan Foundation.

She has a PhD in Inclusive Education from Gauhati University and has presented papers at several national-level seminars.
