A 31-year-old software employee was killed after a lorry allegedly rammed his motorcycle from behind near the Dr. YSR ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium on NH-16 under the P.M. Palem police station limits in Visakhapatnam in the early hours of Sunday.

According to the police, the accident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on Sunday when Avinash was travelling towards Madhurawada from the city on his motorcycle.

When he reached the YSR Cricket Stadium Junction on NH-16, a lorry, allegedly being driven at high speed in a rash and negligent manner, hit his motorcycle from behind.

The impact reportedly caused Avinash to fall on the road, after which he was dragged for some distance by the lorry. He suffered severe injuries and died on the spot.
