Crypto Sees 67 Percent Rise in Hacks, With $136 Million Lost in August

Crypto attacks rose 67 percent month-on-month in August, with 50 incidents recorded by blockchain security firm PeckShield.

Despite the increase in attack frequency, estimated losses fell 49.5 percent to $136.3 million from July.

The Tectonic lending protocol accounted for about $74 million of the losses, while the remaining 49 incidents resulted in approximately $62.3 million in combined losses.
