Two DANSAF officers rammed into by suspected drug smugglers in Keralam capital

Two police officers attached to the District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) of Thiruvananthapuram City police were allegedly targeted in an attempt to harm them while they were on a mission to apprehend a suspected drug gang on Tuesday.

The injured officers have been identified as Vineeth and Rojin. Both were rushed to the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. within the limits of the Valiyathura police station. The officers were travelling on a motorcycle when a car allegedly rammed into them, causing them to fall.

According to official sources, the occupants of the car stopped the vehicle after hitting the officers, then reversed and deliberately drove into them again. The car reportedly ran over Rojin’s leg before the gang fled the scene.

The police have reportedly identified the suspects, and efforts have commenced to apprehend the gang.
