Dr. N. Kalaiselvi, Director General, Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and Secretary, Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), on Tuesday visited AMTZ to witness the key developments shaping the next phase of India’s MedTech ecosystem. Dr. Kalaiselvi interacted with Dr. Jitendra Sharma, MD & Founder CEO, AMTZ, and senior officials, and visited MedTech enterprises including Pyramed, Molbio Diagnostics, Transasia Bio-Medicals and Electra. She participated in the foundation stone ceremony of SS Medical Systems (I) Pvt. Ltd. marking its expansion into indigenous MedTech manufacturing with its OptiMaser technology deployed across 55,000 installations in India. A major highlight was the inauguration of the expanded Medi Valley, AMTZ’s MedTech incubation platform, supported by NITI Aayog, which has grown to a new tower of 1-lakh Sqft. The facility enables startups to transform idea to prototypes in six months and pursue regulatory clearances within 12 months, with access to specialised labs and facilities. Dr. Jitendra Sharma said: “Dr. Kalaiselvi’s visit is a moment of pride and inspiration as we enter our next decade focused on accelerating indigenous innovation, strengthening the MedTech value chain and building an Aatmanirbhar, globally competitive MedTech ecosystem for India.” Dr. Kalaiselvi said, “What Dr. Jitendra Sharma has built at AMTZ is truly remarkable—a complete ecosystem where innovation, research, manufacturing and entrepreneurship converge. AMTZ is a model that deserves to be replicated across India.” She said ecosystems like AMTZ demonstrate the potential of indigenous innovation and strengthen confidence in achieving Viksit Bharat 2047. To strengthen startup research linkages, she said all 37 CSIR laboratories are open to AMTZ startups for research, technology and innovation support.
