Bank holidays this week: SBI, HDFC, ICICI, PNB closed for upto 4 days between 24 - 30 Aug; check RBI calendar dates here

Bank holidays this week : SBI, HDFC, ICICI, PNB and all other public and private sector banks across India will remain closed today, since 23 August is a Sunday. Hence, physical in branch banking services at all scheduled and non-scheduled banks will remain suspended today due to weekend holiday. According to the Reserve Bank of India's holiday calendar, banks remain closed on all Sundays and on every second and fourth Saturday of every month.

RBI's holiday calendar shows that there three regional bank holidays this week between 24 and 30 August. Physical bank branches will remain closed for upto 4 days this week but will operate as usual on normal business days. This coming weekend, banks will open on Saturday as 29 August is fifth Saturday of the month.

Although bank timings differ from branch to branch and across private and public sector banks but most of these financial institutions begin with public dealing operations at 10:00 AM and close access to in-branch services at 4:00 PM on all working days.

Customers will not be able to access in-branch services on bank holidays, but online facilities remain operational as banking apps offer services 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and throughout the year. Irrespective of bank holidays, digital banking channels, such as NEFT, RTGS, internet banking, mobile banking, UPI services and ATMs continue to operate normally so that customers can carry out essential online banking transactions without disruption.
