Did Simon Nemec request a trade from Devils before Flames move?

Before becoming a member of the Calgary Flames, Simon Nemec has clarified that he did not ask for a trade from the New Jersey Devils.

22-year-old defenseman said the change of management in New Jersey and his fit in the organization were factors in the move.

Nemec has since seized the opportunity in Calgary, signing to a five-year deal and expecting to play a larger role on the blue line.
