CII Young Indians (Yi) Amaravati Chapter set a new record in the Asia Book of Records for the maximum number of native bamboo seed balls prepared by a youth organisation, with 1,13,109 seed balls prepared in a single day at P.B. Siddhartha College of Arts & Science here on Saturday.

The initiative was aimed at promoting climate action, afforestation, volunteerism and ecological responsibility, according to a press release.

The Yi Amaravati chapter said the initiative was part of its efforts to engage and empower young people to contribute meaningfully to nation-building. The seed ball preparation drive was undertaken as a tangible step towards environmental conservation and sustainable development.

The chapter said it was encouraging young people to move beyond awareness and participate actively in initiatives aimed at protecting the environment.
