Two teen boys drowned while swimming in a water tank at a cattle shed in Mumbai’s Aarey Colony on Friday (August 21, 2026), Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) authority stated.
The incident occurred on Friday around 1.48 p.m. in Gautam Nagar, Modern Bakery Junction, Aarey Colony, Goregaon (East).
BMC mobilised MFB, Police, 108 Ambulance and BMC’s Ward Staff to rescue the children. According to HBT Hospital, both boys were declared brought dead. The deceased were identified as Zaib Patel (15), a 10th-grade student and Nakhib Patel (13), a 9th-grade student.
Ms. Dhumal, Principal of Jogeshwari Gunfa English Medium Secondary School, confirmed that both were the students of her school and were absent on Friday.
