Seethakka consoles family of slain nurse, assures support

The grieving family members of a 21-year-old private hospital nurse, who was allegedly raped and murdered by a mechanic in Hyderabad on Saturday (August 29, 2026), shared their grief with Panchayat Raj and Rural Development Minister Danasari Anasuya (Seethakka) during her visit to their Adivasi hamlet in Bhadradri Kothagudem district on Tuesday (September 1, 2026).

The Minister, accompanied by Aswaraopeta MLA Jare Adinarayana, visited the house of the slain nurse and consoled her bereaved mother and other family members.

She handed over interim relief to the family and assured them that a cheque for ₹5 lakh from the State government would be disbursed immediately. The Minister also assured the family of an Indiramma house and an outsourcing job for one of its members, sources said.

Ms. Seethakka said the government would take steps to ensure a speedy trial of the case through a fast-track court and secure stringent punishment for the accused in accordance with law. She assured the family that the government would stand by them and extend all possible support to the members.

Overcome with emotion, the grieving family members recounted the hardships the young woman had endured to pursue her nursing education despite poverty. They said she had aspired to build a bright career in nursing and hoped to help the family overcome its hardships.
