The Election Commission of India (ECI) has revised the schedule for the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Andhra Pradesh, extending the deadline for the notice phase and disposal of claims and objections to October 22, 2026.
In a letter issued by Sandeep Kumar, Under Secretary, ECI, on Wednesday, addressed to the Chief Electoral Officer of Andhra Pradesh, the ECI announced that the final electoral roll would be published on October 30, 2026.
The revised schedule follows a request from the State Chief Electoral Officer, through a letter dated October 12, 2026. The ECI referred to its earlier orders issued on May 14, July 14, September 1 and September 30, 2026, concerning the SIR schedule.
According to the communication, the revision of electoral rolls is being undertaken with July 1, 2026, as the qualifying date.
The ECI has directed the authorities concerned to inform all officials and officers about the revised schedule, and ensure wide publicity through all available media. Political parties must also be informed of the modified schedule in writing.
