Carlos Alcaraz, Serena Williams to team up for US Open mixed doubles

Carlos Alcaraz will pair with Serena Williams in mixed doubles at the US Open, the tournament announced on Saturday.

Alcaraz, 23, won the season-ending Grand Slam last year for the second time. He then won the Australian Open to kick off 2026 for his seventh major and career Grand Slam, but has not competed at one since due to a wrist injury.

Williams, 44, is a six-time US Open champion, including most recently in 2014. The 23-time major winner made her return to pro tennis earlier this season with Canada's Victoria Mboko in women's doubles at the Queen's Club.

Other mixed doubles pairs include another US Open-winning duo in Novak Djokovic and Aryna Sabalenka; Elena Rybakina and Taylor Fritz; Canada's Felix Auger-Aliassime and Alex Eala; Canada's Leylah Fernandez and Frances Tiafoe; and defending-champion Italians Sara Errani and Andrea Vavassori.

Action at Flushing Meadows will take place from Monday through Wednesday, one week before the main draw begins.
