Draw revealed for 2026-27 UEFA Champions League

Mark your calendars; the fixture list for the UEFA Champions League has been revealed.

The Champions League pencilled in its draw for the 2026-27 campaign on Thursday, with some blockbuster games set for the opening round in the third iteration of the tournament since the format changed.

Because of the altered format, reigning Champions League victor Paris Saint-Germain will take on Spanish champs Barcelona and English juggernaut Manchester City in the group stage, and Premier League champ Arsenal will square off against Bayern Munich and Real Madrid.

While the list of opponents is set in stone, the schedule itself will be released on Saturday.

The tournament adjusted its group-stage format for the 2024-25 season, with all 36 teams split into four pots of nine.

For each pot — including its own — the team will play one opponent at home and one away. In all, every team will play eight games throughout the group stage against eight different opponents. Teams cannot play opponents from the same domestic league and can only play two games against teams from the same country.

Pools are decided based on the team's five-year UEFA club coefficient — their proficiency in domestic and European competition. For example, the top teams in Europe reside in Pot 1, while Champions League newcomers and most playoff qualifiers are in Pot 4.
