Chorney-Booth: Curry fans unite to keep a local Indian restaurant’s legacy alive

Whenever a long-running restaurant goes out of business, the city experiences a brief period of mourning.

Places like Silver Inn, La Chaumière, and most recently, Murrieta’s, all institutions for decades, were each met with considerable affection and sharing of memories when they shut their doors.

These closures happen for a variety of reasons — dwindling customer bases, retiring owners, or a simple desire to do something new — but no matter the circumstances, it’s always sad to see a local legend go.
