Best-selling Philips air fryer is $270 off for a limited-time but you need to be quick

The Philips Air Fryer 5000 Series XXL has been marked down by an incredible 60 per cent for a limited time on Amazon Australia.

The 7.2-litre air fryer is currently $179, down from $449, giving shoppers a $270 saving for a limited time.

That generous capacity is designed to handle up to six portions in one go, making it a particularly practical option for families, batch cooking or anyone who would rather make one big dinner than cook in several rounds.

At the heart of the appliance is Philips’ Rapid Air Technology, which circulates hot air around food to create a crisp finish while using up to 90 per cent less fat than traditional frying.

That means you can get the crunch associated with fried food without needing to fill the kitchen with oil.

The Philips XXL is designed to do considerably more than air fry. There are 16 cooking functions covering everything from baking, grilling and roasting to dehydrating, toasting, reheating and defrosting.

It can also cook food from frozen, keep meals warm and tackle one-pot cooking, as well as functions including fermenting, stewing, sautéing, stir-frying and confit.

For anyone who likes the idea of simplifying their kitchen bench, that is a fairly convincing list of jobs for one appliance.

The XXL capacity also means there is room for larger meals, including a whole chicken, alongside the more familiar air fryer staples such as chips and vegetables.

Amazon shoppers appear particularly impressed with the size and versatility.

“This Philips XXL Airfryer is a game-changer for family meals, ” one reviewer wrote, praising the large capacity for handling food for everyone.

Another reviewer had a distinctly Australian take, calling it “a ripper” and saying they wished they had bought one sooner.

According to the shopper, once they started cooking pork belly in the air fryer, they would never prepare it another way.

A third reviewer praised the appliance for being quieter than some other air fryers they had encountered, while also highlighting its performance with roast potatoes, pumpkin and carrots.
