Alan Jones accuser denies seeking legal advice to sue over allegations
A man who accused Alan Jones of repeatedly indecently assaulting him has denied seeking legal advice to determine if he could sue over some of the allegations.
Mr Jones, 85, is standing trial in Sydney’s Downing Centre Local Court, where he is fighting 22 charges comprising 20 counts of indecent assault and two counts of sexual touching.
A man, who can only be known as “Complainant C”, is the second alleged victim to give evidence in what is expected to be a months-long trial.
The radio broadcaster has denied all the allegations, including those made by C that the former 2GB host grabbed his penis in his car and at a Mosman restaurant and repeatedly kissed him.
C has returned to the witness box for day four of his evidence and is being cross-examined by Mr Jones’ barrister Gabrielle Bashir SC.
C has been questioned about an incident in which he alleges he was kissed by Mr Jones in the lift at the broadcaster’s Circular Quay apartment building.
During his evidence, C told the court that he had driven Mr Jones into the basement car park and was carrying the former radio host’s jacket over his forearm and his briefcase when he was kissed.
“Do you accept that even with such items, a bag and a briefcase in each hand, did not prevent you from pushing off the defendant (Mr Jones) if he ever did such a thing,” Ms Bashir asked.
Pressed on whether the items could be used as a barrier between him and Mr Jones, C replied: “That assumes I felt strong enough to push him away.”
C has also alleged Mr Jones kissed him in the lifts at the 2GB studios, where Mr Jones worked.
And C on Wednesday denied that he had sought legal advice to determine if he could sue over the allegations.
“In relation to the allegations you’ve made as to Mr Jones and having occurred … have you sought legal advice in relation to civil remedies in or after December 2023,” Ms Bashir asked.
