Jayne Hrdlicka fights council over Noosa mansion plans

A high-flying chief executive is locked in a courtroom showdown over plans to build a luxury mansion.

Former Jetstar and Virgin boss Jayne Hrdlicka is fighting with Noosa Shire Council in Queensland over a proposal for a three-level home complete with an infinity pool, gym and wine cellar.

Number 3 Allambi Rise, high in the tree tops of Noosa Heads, is the steep, sloped battleground of the development war.

The property was on the market two years ago for $16.9 million , with the current home set to be knocked down.

The local government knocked back plans in 2025, calling it an “overdevelopment” with “extensive evacuation”.

The council also said the “removal of native vegetation” could impact views from Main Beach.

That has been denied by lawyers for the current CEO of retail drinks and hospitality business Endeavour Group, who will argue it meets planning codes.

Experts speaking in favour of it say it “will make a positive contribution to the local architectural character and identity”.

A judge previously accused the local government of getting in the way of development.

A potential six-day court battle started on Monday with a site visit to the exclusive real estate pocket.
