Kaia Gerber reveals bizarre ‘exorcism’ after being told she was ‘possessed’

Kaia Gerber has revealed she underwent a secret “exorcism” after being told she was “possessed” as a child – with the unusual ritual involving a didgeridoo being played over her body.

The 24-year-old model and actress made the disclosure during an appearance on the Mitch Churi Chat Show while promoting her new FX thriller The Shards.

Kaia, the daughter of supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Rande Gerber, said she had experienced apparently supernatural encounters throughout her life and claimed she attracts “beings from other dimensions in a very casual and chill way”.

Kaia said: “I was told I was possessed as a child,” adding she had been “haunted” throughout her life.

She then disclosed details of the ritual she said had been performed on her.

Kaia said: “Do you know how they did the exorcism? They played a didgeridoo all over me, that’s how they did the exorcism.”

She added: “That actually did happen. I’ve never talked about it, but that actually did happen.”

The model said her family’s concerns about the supernatural later resurfaced when she joined Ryan Murphy’s American Horror Story: Double Feature in 2021.

Kaia said Cindy gave her holy water before she went to work on the horror series because her mother feared she could become possessed on set.

She said: “My mom gave me holy water to go to set. She was like, ‘I don’t want you to get possessed’.”

Kaia is currently starring as Susan Reynolds in The Shards, the FX adaptation of Bret Easton Ellis’s 2023 novel.

The thriller, executive produced by Ryan Murphy, is set in Los Angeles in 1981 and follows a group of wealthy high school students whose lives are disrupted as a serial killer terrorises the city.

The series also stars Homer Gere, the son of Richard Gere and Carey Lowell, creating an unusual connection between its two young stars because Cindy and Richard were previously married.

Kaia and Homer have now appeared together on the September cover of Vogue while promoting the series. Homer said they addressed their parents’ history soon after meeting.
