Glenn Close defends Kim Kardashian after All’s Fair acting backlash

Glenn Close has leapt to the defense of Kim Kardashian over criticism of her acting in All’s Fair.

Describing her co-star and friend as a “KIND, funny, steady, smart powerhouse of a woman and mother”, the 79-year-old Fatal Attraction star spoke out after sharing photographs from the set of the second season of Ryan Murphy’s Hulu legal drama, which she is currently filming with Kim, 45.

One image also featured Kim’s boyfriend, Formula One champion Lewis Hamilton, who visited the production after the couple recently shared photographs from their summer together.

Responding to a social media user who expressed regret Glenn had to “deal with” Kim, the veteran Hollywood actress said: “You know what, whatever your opinion of Kim is, I want you to know she is a KIND, funny, steady, smart powerhouse of a woman and mother.”

Glenn had initially shared the photograph to mark meeting Lewis during his visit to the All’s Fair set.

She wrote: “Sir Lewis came by our All’s Fair location. I LOVED meeting him. What a sweet, classy gentleman he is. Thank you, Kim, for bringing him by.”

Kim and Lewis have become increasingly public about their relationship in recent months.

They went Instagram official in June after being romantically linked earlier in the year, and Lewis has since shared photographs featuring Kim during his Formula One summer break. Kim also posted pictures of the pair together during a recent Hawaii vacation.

Kim has now returned to work on All’s Fair, in which she plays divorce lawyer Allura Grant.

The series follows a group of female divorce attorneys who leave a male-dominated firm to establish their own practice.

Glenn plays Dina Standish, while Naomi Watts stars as Liberty Ronson, Niecy Nash-Betts plays Emerald Greene, Teyana Taylor portrays Milan and Sarah Paulson appears as Carrington Lane.

The series received a wave of negative reviews following its debut in 2025, including criticism of Kim’s performance, but Hulu renewed it for a second season in November.

Kim previously addressed the pressure she felt about taking on a scripted television role during an episode of her Hulu reality series The Kardashians.

She said: “It is crazy that this journey is over. Here’s the thing with these shows – it is not guaranteed that it’s gonna be a hit.
