Woman struck by car at aquatic centre critically injured after group descend on man in carpark
A woman is fighting for life after she was struck by a car in an aquatic centre carpark in Melbourne’s southeast.
The 24-year-old Bentleigh woman was part of a group of people who approached a 30-year-old man in the Noble Park Aquatic Centre on Memorial Dr about 2.50am on Saturday.
“A verbal confrontation occurred, and the man subsequently locked himself inside his white Nissan Patrol,” Victoria Police said.
The 30-year-old man, of no fixed address, attempted to flee, and struck the woman in the process, police allege.
The driver immediately called Triple-0, and drove straight to Dandenong Police Station.
Police investigators have since interviewed the man, and released him pending further investigation.
