Child dies, two other children and woman fighting for life after horror stabbing in Blue Mountains town

A child has died and two others and a woman are fighting for life after a stabbing in the Blue Mountains.

Emergency services first responded to reports of the three children and a woman suffering from stab wounds in a vehicle on Waratah Rd, in the small town of Valley Heights about 12.45pm on Sunday.

One of the children was located deceased in the vehicle, NSW Police said in a statement.

Members of the public performed first aid on the four while contacting triple-0.

The two other children and the woman have been taken to Westmead Hospital and The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in critical conditions.

The children are believed to be under five years of age, and the woman is in her 40s.

Police have confirmed they are not looking for any other people at this time, but have urged anyone who was in the area at the time with any footage, or with information about the incident, to come forward.
