Teenager hit and killed by car while walking along Cunningham Hwy in Queensland’s Scenic Rim

A teenage boy has been hit and killed by a car while walking along a highway.

The 17-year-old pedestrian was struck by a white Toyota Yaris on the Cunningham Hwy in Clumber, in Queensland’s Scenic Rim, about 6.20pm on Friday.

Emergency services arrived at the scene soon after and tragically found the boy had died.

Police are investigating the incident and urging anyone with information to contact them.

It adds to the growing number of people killed on Queensland’s roads this year.

The state government’s latest weekly road death toll report, released last Sunday, revealed 15 more people had died on Queensland roads compared to the same point in 2025.

This year has been the deadliest of the decade to date, with 206 people killed in 190 fatal crashes between January 1 and August 23.
