Donny Osmond hails 'powerhouse' Dolly Parton
The country music icon passed away on Tuesday (25.08.26), aged 80, and Donny has paid a heartfelt tribute to the chart-topping star, describing Dolly as a "powerhouse".
Donny, 68, told Extra: "She’s the sweetest, the nicest, most talented, kind, loving. Anything you can say great is her. We lost an icon.
"People lose that word 'legend' kind of loosely. She was even more than a legend. She was such a force of nature, just a powerhouse. She's gonna be sorely missed, but her music will live on forever."
Donny explained that Dolly remained authentic to herself, in spite of her fame and success.
The former teen idol - who rose to fame alongside his siblings as a member of The Osmonds - said: "There's no pretence about her, there's nothing fake. It's just ... she is the real deal."
Meanwhile, Miley Cyrus previously paid a heartfelt tribute to Dolly, too.
The 33-year-old pop star took to social media to pay tribute to Dolly, her godmother.
Miley - who also shared a throwback photo of her godmother - wrote on Instagram: "The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share. Our most sacred moments were private and they’ll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour and between our hearts.
"What I KNOW is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis. [butterflies emoji] (sic)"
Miley explained that she's now determined to make Dolly feel proud of her.
The pop star - who has also enjoyed success as an actress - wrote on the photo-sharing platform: "I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We’re in this loss together and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things [heart emoji] @dollyparton (sic)"
