Hilary Swank announces next ‘project’ in playful family video

Hollywood star Hilary Swank has announced she is expecting her third child at age 52.

The Million Dollar Baby actress revealed her pregnancy in a video posted to Instagram, featuring herself, husband Philip Schneider and their three-year-old twins, Aya and Ohm.

The family danced in the dark with glow sticks taped to their bodies creating glowing silhouettes.

Swank then revealed her growing bump, with a glow-stick baby appearing on her stomach.

“A lot of people have been asking what project I’m doing next, this one releases in December,” she said in the caption.

The announcement comes more than three years after Swank and Schneider welcomed their twins in April 2023.

Swank teased the announcement last week, sharing a photo of her with a baby bump as part of a partnership with US organic nappy brand HealthyBaby.

Swank is the latest celebrity to announce a pregnancy later in life, following several high-profile announcements.

In July, Natalie Portman shared a photograph of her growing baby bump after confirming in April she was expecting her third child.

The Oscar-winner described the experience as both a joy and a privilege, while acknowledging that pregnancy does not come easily to everyone particularly in their 40s.

Perth-born actress Melissa George, 49, also recently revealed she had welcomed her fourth son, having previously become a mother for the third time at 47.

Anne Hathaway, 43, announced in June she was expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman.

Hathaway has previously spoken about her fertility struggles, writing during her second pregnancy: “For everyone going through infertility and conception hell, please know it was not a straight line to either of my pregnancies.”

None of the women has publicly disclosed whether fertility treatment played a role in their pregnancies.
