Kathleen Folbigg finds happiness after decades-long fight to clear her name
Kathleen Folbigg, once thought to be Australia’s worst serial killer, has married her childhood sweetheart.
The fairytale ending follows a decades long legal fight over the wrongful ruling that she killed her four children.
Folbigg was jailed in 2003 over the deaths of her four children Patrick, Laura, Caleb and Sarah before being freed in 2023 after new scientific evidence cast reasonable doubt over her convictions.
The convictions were overturned by the NSW Court of Criminal Appeal after a landmark inquiry led by Tom Bathurst KC.
Surrounded by close family and friends, including her solicitor Rhanee Rego, Folbigg wed her long-time friend Robert Muir in an intimate ceremony in Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
